This Minecraft seed archive has and should have seeds for every good version of Minecraft 1.7+ and currently up to Minecraft 1.12.1 seeds. There are very many seeds to look through before deciding on one. Don't settle for one awesome Minecraft seed when there could be even better Minecraft worlds to choose from.

The Minecraft coordinates system
The coordinate system is very important when trying to explore a Minecraft seed. In order to open the coordinates on the PC/Mac versions of Minecraft, hit the “F3” key while in-game. This key should be above the number keys on the keyboard. Some keyboards require hitting an “Fn” key at the same time.
Pressing the F3 key should bring up a bunch of information about the game. To the top left there should be a section that says “XYZ:” with three numbers afterward separated by a “/” symbol. The first number is the X coordinate, the second is the Y coordinate, and the last number is the Z coordinate. Usually the X and the Z are the only coordinates that matter as the “Y” coordinate is the vertical positioning. In other words if a player digs straight down the Y coordinate will begin to go down, it will inversely go up if a player flies straight up into the sky.
Normally the “X” and “Z” coordinates are the only ones that really matter when trying to find stuff. Most of the seeds on this site have the coordinates listed on the page dedicated to that seed. The coordinate system is very useful for anyone trying to find what’s being talked about in a seed description.
All types of Minecraft seeds
There are many different reasons to choose a Minecraft seed. While all Minecraft seeds contain all environments and structures with enough traveling, in some of these seeds it could take hours of running (or flying) just to find them. It's for that reason that these seeds exist, so people can put in a number and start right next to what they want (or at least somewhat nearby). Another reason is that not all seeds are created equal, with most Minecraft seeds being quite lackluster. These Minecraft seeds are hand-picked to be some of the best Minecraft seeds available.
Minecraft village seeds are some of the best Minecraft seeds. These Minecraft worlds have naturally generated structures that make a village. Every Minecraft seed has villages in it somewhere, but only a few start off at a village. Some village seeds can even have multiple villages really close by.
Villages can spawn in three different biomes: plains, deserts, and savannas. Some villages come with a few different structures: blacksmiths, churches, butchers, a well, and various sized houses. Of all of these structures the blacksmiths are the most important. Blacksmiths always contain a storage chest which has randomly generated items in it.
Here are some examples of village seeds. These are just a few of the many villages to be found over at Minecraft village seeds.
This is a good example of a fun Minecraft seed with a village. Players start right next to the village, which is beside a giant mountain region. There's a blacksmith up on the hill, along with some big Minecraft houses. This is a really cool Minecraft seed, and it works on any Minecraft version after 1.7.
There are resources up in the mountains; some are even exposed on the side of the mountains, such as coal and iron. Some village seeds are more flat than this one, but the hills are definitely what makes this Minecraft seed so good for some people. The blacksmith has a few items to start with, including two pieces of iron armor, a sword, and a few other little items.
This is a really awesome Minecraft seed with two villages extremely close to each other. The first village is fairly close to where players start off, the second is a little further. Both villages have blacksmith, which is really cool.
Both of these villages are actually pretty massive, with a lot of Minecraft houses. This Minecraft seed is in a plains biome, with plenty of access to trees and other resources. There's an ocean somewhere nearby, and plenty of other biomes too. This is a really fun Minecraft seed with lots of adventures to be had. At the very least, connecting the two villages with roads or Mine cart tracks could be a very fun Minecraft adventure to have.
This is one of the most exciting Minecraft village seeds out there. This Minecraft seed is so amazing that it makes the list of best Minecraft seeds as well. While players don't start off right near the villages, it's not very far off. Players can find the savanna village (as seen above) around x0 z0 in coordinates. Click the picture above to see the main page for this seed with the rest of the coordinates.
There are also two desert temples in this Minecraft seed. Between all the different naturally generated structures, there are three diamonds, which is enough to make a diamond pickaxe. This is one of the coolest Minecraft seeds to use for connecting villages. This would be the go-to village seed to make a giant metropolis by trying to connect all the villages. The villagers might not roam too far away from their own village wells, but a Minecraft city is still possible either way.
Not all of the villages have blacksmiths, but this seed for Minecraft makes up for it by having desert temples nearby. There are other environments nearby to explore, this Minecraft seed isn't limited to deserts and savanna. The starting point on this seed is actually in the plains.
These three village seeds are only the beginning. Be sure to head on over to Minecraft Village Seeds to see the rest of the Minecraft seeds with villages.
Diamonds are one of the rarest objects to find in any Minecraft seed. To mine diamonds beneath the earth, it's best to look around 20-80 blocks above the bedrock. Mining diamonds requires an iron pickaxe, or any quality higher than iron. Diamonds are few and far between in most seeds for Minecraft. It takes a lot of mining to get a lot of diamonds.
Luckily, mining isn't the only way to get diamonds. These valuable Minecraft gems can occasionally be found in the blacksmiths of villages, in the treasure chests from desert temples and jungle temples, as well on the walls of deep fissures. Below are three examples, check out the big list of diamond seeds for many more Minecraft seeds with diamonds.
The village in this Minecraft seed takes a little travel to get to. The coordinates of the village are X -650 Z 375. It's worth going the distance to find this mountain village seed which has three diamonds in the blacksmith. On top of all that the village is huge, the scenery is beautiful, and there's plenty of exploration to be done.
Three diamonds is just enough to make a diamond pickaxe, which is required to mine obsidian blocks. The village has just enough diamonds to do so. The village is a cool place to make a base too, with a natural terrain advantage. This village is a cool place to make a home.
This example of a Minecraft seed with diamonds has four diamonds down inside of the desert temple. Players start right next to the small village in the picture above, which is directly next to the desert temple. Be careful when scaling the desert temple, as there's a pressure plate at the bottom which will make TNT explode upon touch.
This seed is in a desert, but there are plenty of other biomes nearby too. There's even a second desert temple way off in the desert. This is a fun seed for Minecraft with a private village - temple combo. It almost looks as though the desert temple was meant to be part of the village itself.
This is an example of a seed with abundant diamonds beneath the surface. Some seeds like this have exposed fissures, but for this seed the fissure is beneath the surface.
Down in the fissure there are a total of 11 exposed diamonds to be mined. Be careful of the lava, as well as the monsters down in the fissure. Falling into the lava is a sure fire way to lose all those hard earned diamonds. This is a great seed for Minecraft which is actually on a small island. It's rare to have an island seed with so many diamonds available.
These are just a few of the many diamond seeds on the site. Be sure to check out the diamond seed list for even more great Minecraft seeds for diamonds.
Survival island seeds can be quite an experience. The idea originated in older versions of Minecraft where it was fairly common to start a world where there's nothing but one island in the middle of the ocean. These islands required self-sustainability in order to survive because the oceans in Minecraft used to be much larger. With the later versions of Minecraft (1.7+) the island seeds for Minecraft have much smaller oceans, making it nearly impossible to start off stranded on a small island.
Island seeds for Minecraft come in many different forms. The most generic of these islands will have one to five trees and be very difficult to survive one. There are many other types of islands, such as luxury paradise islands with animals, ocean monument seeds with an island beside an ocean monument, exposed strongholds floating in the water next to islands (very rare), and much more.
Here are three good examples of a Minecraft island seed where players start off on or near islands of interest. For more islands, head on over to the big survival island seed list.
This is a fairly easy survival island seed to live on. There are plenty of trees on this island, which can be used to grow apples. There's more to this island than just that, there's an ocean monument right next to the island with 8 gold blocks deep inside. This is an exciting island seed, which other than the monument, is pretty generic. It will be quite a challenge to survive off of apples, it may require other means of survival before this island becomes happily inhabitable.
This Minecraft seed actually starts off on the shore of a savanna. To find the village island, swim out to X 60 Z -270. Off the shore of the island in the direction of the savanna there should be a small opening to a fissure. Deep down in the fissure players can find many diamonds to use. It's important to bring some saplings before swimming out to the island as there are no natural trees. There is a small amount of dirt on the island around the edges, but it may be a good idea to bring some dirt as well.
This village is really cool, it's big as well. There's a blacksmith that has a few necessities, but the main importance of this Minecraft seed is the fact that it's a private luxury island village. It's easy to survive on this island because the villagers have already created farms to eat from. This is one of the most interesting seeds for Minecraft because of all of this. There are other structures out in the water, including two ocean monuments, a few fissures, and various underwater caves to explore.
This is one of the most unique Minecraft island seeds. There's an island to start on, but right beside the island is a floating end portal from a stronghold. As odd as it is, there is no stronghold attached to this end portal. With enough eyes of ender players can travel to the end and fight the ender dragon. There's not much more to the island other than that and the trees. It's not too easy to survive on this island as apples will be the only starting source of food.
These are just a few examples of the many island seeds. To find more great island seeds check out the Minecraft island seeds list.
Jungle temple seeds are really interesting. These are more than simple jungle seeds, these jungles are guaranteed to have a jungle temple in them. Not all jungles have temples buried deep within them. Some jungle temple seeds go above and beyond that even by starting people out right beside the jungle temple.
Jungle temples are a novelty. While similar to desert temples, the jungle temples are vastly different. There are only two storage chests in a jungle temple, rather than four. There are traps in both temples, but the jungle temple traps involve trip wires and arrows. Jungle temples also look wildly different than desert temples. Other than that they can contain the same item types in their storage chests.
Here are three examples of jungle temples seeds. For even more jungle temple seeds, check out the jungle temple seed list.
This Minecraft seed has multiple jungle temples. Each one contains various different items. All of the jungle temples in the seed are in the same jungle. The coordinates of the temples are on the page for the seed, which can be accessed by clicking the above picture or title.
One of the temples is actually right where players start off. This seed for Minecraft has tons of jungle to explore, so if the temples aren't good enough, they're plenty more to do. Jungles are a fun environment to explore, they're also very dangerous as night. There's plenty of cocoa and animals spread out throughout the jungle.
This is one of the most interesting jungle temple seeds. This Minecraft seed starts players in plains near to a village. Right next to the village is a jungle with a jungle temple on the edge of it. In other words there's a jungle temple right next to an already existing village seed.
This is a great Minecraft seed to try out for anyone looking for a village and a temple. There's even a blacksmith in the village. On top of that there are a bunch of different biomes nearby, it's one of those points where environments come together. There's a mesa in plain sight of the jungle temple. This is one of the best Minecraft seeds.
This interesting Minecraft seed has a jungle temple pretty close to where people start off. This is one of the coolest jungle temples simply for the fact that it's floating on top of the water like an island. There's also a second jungle temple much deeper into the jungle.
Jungles often have a lot of water in them, with these strange swampy looking areas as seen above. There should be plenty of animals in this jungle as it's fairly large. Plenty of cocoa and jungle wood as well. This is a good Minecraft seed for any jungle temple enthusiast.
There are plenty more jungle temples where that came from. Be sure to check out the full list of jungle temple seeds as well.
Desert temples are fun to find in any Minecraft seed. These naturally generated structures have treasure deep underneath the temple. There are four treasure chests, but beware of the pressure plate. There's a trap at the bottom of every desert temple that causes everything to explode if stepped on. To avoid this trap, try falling along a wall, or building a staircase down to the bottom.
There are many different items that can be found in desert temples. Some temples contain diamonds, others have armor, and very rarely they have enchantment scrolls. There are many minor items that can be found in these desert temples as well.
Desert temples are a fun addition to any Minecraft seed. Don't forget to check out the full list of desert temple seeds.
This desert temple is built into the side of a village. It's rare to find a temple built into a village like this, but not here. It's usually better to find a temple built into a village, so that way there's something to do with the desert temple, or the items inside.
That's not all to this Minecraft seed. There's a second desert temple off in the distance. This second temple has two saddles in it, which is great for any horse tamer. Overall this is a really cool Minecraft seed to try out.
This Minecraft desert temple seed has a temple right across the river near the start of the seed. This temple doesn't have much in it other than gold bars, bones, zombie flesh, and some horse armor. Oddly enough there was one single iron bar inside of this desert temple.
That's not all about this seed. Aside from the desert temple having a neat location next to a different environment, there's a village out in the desert, which adds another aspect to this cool Minecraft seed. There's plenty to find in this Minecraft world.
Here's another great desert temple seed. While neither temple is near the start, a village should be. One of the desert temples has three diamonds in it, which is a real bonus to any Minecraft seeds.
There's a second village near the first desert temple, with another desert temple nearby to that. This is a lot of different structures to find in a single seed, it's great for anyone who likes discovery. The only downside to this Minecraft seed is that neither village has a blacksmith; otherwise there would be a ton of different free items to get on this cool Minecraft seed.
There are many more desert temple seeds out there. Don't forget to stop by the list of desert temple seeds for even more temple adventures.
Strongholds are the most important part of any single-player Minecraft adventure. These mysterious buildings are naturally generated. Each of these places contain one end portal, which is used to reach "the end" and fight the Ender Dragon. In a sense, beating the Ender Dragon is how to beat the game. Some people don't even know that it's possible to beat the game of Minecraft, but this is technically how it's done.
Generally there's no such thing as a seed that starts player inside of a stronghold, because they're usually underground. The closest it gets is spawning on an island with a floating end portal under the water (as seen below) or if there's one exposed down in a fissure that people start near. Most of the time Minecraft seeds for strongholds require some digging and precise coordinates in order to find the stronghold.
Be sure to check out the rest of the strongholds over at the stronghold seed list.
This is one of the most interesting ways to find a stronghold. The end portal seen above is floating in the water right next to an island. This Minecraft seed is definitely interesting for strongholds; the real question is how to get the ender pearls on the island in order to open the end portal.
There's not much else to do on this island. There are some wolves to tame, and some trees to cultivate.
This Minecraft seed has a stronghold in it, but it's buried deep under the ground in the mountains, which is fairly normal. Players start in the tundra, but the stronghold can be found at x-380 z-447 y30. There's a village along the way too. This is a pretty fun Minecraft seed, with some pretty epic mountains too. The mountains go on for quite a while, it's pretty epic.
This is a pretty amazing Minecraft seed with another tale of two villages. There's a stronghold right up in the mountains at x560 by z640. At that point players should dig straight down and they'll end up falling into the stronghold.
What makes this stronghold Minecraft seed so good is that there's much more than just a stronghold. This Minecraft seed has a place that people would actually want to play in long enough to collect the massive number of ender pearls required to open the end portal. It's very difficult to open an end portal on survival mode, and this Minecraft seed has enough to do to make the journey possible.
There are more stronghold seeds where those three came from. Don't forget to stop by the stronghold seed list for more great Minecraft seeds.
Minecraft seeds with mushroom islands are some of the coolest seeds of all. At the same time mushroom islands can be the most boring of all seed types because of the lack of wood and dirt. Starting off on a mushroom island can actually be more devastating to survival than normal island seeds for Minecraft.
These environments are great for making mushroom stew for survival; however, it requires wood to make the bowls. These biomes aren't always islands; occasionally they can be land-bound with a connection to some other kind of biome.
Don't stop with the three following examples, be sure to check out the entire mushroom island seed list.
Unfortunately this awesome Minecraft seed starts off on a small survival island, which is right next to the big mushroom island. The starting island kind of diminishes the importance of having free trees built into the mushroom island. Regardless of the starting point, it's still a very cool mushroom island with plenty of mushroom cows and giant mushrooms. There are other islands here and there, so adventure can be found around every corner of this interesting Minecraft seed.
This is a cool Minecraft seed for giant mushrooms or mushroom cows. Players find themselves starting in a plains environment with giant mushrooms just across the river. There are other land biomes attached to the giant mushroom biome as well. This is a great Minecraft seeds for mushroom island biome enthusiasts who don't want to commit to life on an island. From here players can sprawl out to different places on the continents, or stay at home with the mushroom cows.
This is another one of those continent-based mushroom islands. There's a big mushroom biome right off the shore, in sight. There are all the usual features of the mushroom biomes on this Minecraft seed. Players can find small starts to caves, mushroom cows, giant mushrooms, and mycelium blocks on the surfaces. These giant mushroom biomes are really fun seeds for Minecraft, even though there isn't much to do other than tame mushroom cows and go fishing.
These aren't all the mushroom islands to choose from. Check out the list of mushroom island seeds as well.
Minecraft seeds with ocean monuments are very interesting. These seeds almost always involve survival islands, because ocean monuments are under the water. It's actually fairly rare to start right next to an ocean monument.
These underwater temples always contain 8 gold blocks, which is quite a lot of gold. There's not much more to ocean monuments, other than the monstrous fish they contain, which are very dangerous to fight while swimming underwater.
These three examples aren't all, be sure to look at the list of ocean monument seeds as well.
This is a pretty awesome Minecraft seed for ocean monuments. Players start off on a wolf filled island with a few trees and an ocean monument right off shore. Be careful of hitting one of the wolves, or it might turn this island into a very deadly adventure.
There are a few trees on the island, which makes surviving possible. There should be other islands that players can hop to, just like and other good island seed for Minecraft. The ocean monument is very close to the shore, which makes it one of the easiest ocean monuments to explore.
This is another pretty easy to live on ocean monument seed for Minecraft. There's an island with a bunch of trees on it, and an ocean monument just below the surface, off the shore of the island.
This island is one of the easiest to survive one for tree-only islands. There are enough trees and grass to create apple orchards and wheat farms. This ocean monument should be easily accessible once enough time has been spent growing the island and creating solid food sources and mines. This island has just enough resources to be a fun ocean monument seed, with plenty of work to do.
There are many islands all around this ocean monument. Players start off on the island with trees from the picture above. This is a pretty cool Minecraft seed to play with.
There are only a few trees on the first island, but this is one of those Minecraft seeds with a lot of islands all over the place. Finding enough wood to survive shouldn't be very difficult actually. The 8 gold blocks hidden in the ocean monument will be a nice bonus later on into a game of Minecraft.
These aren't all the ocean monuments. Be sure to check out the rest of the ocean monument seeds as well.
Extreme hills seeds are actually moderately rare to find on any 1.7+ version of Minecraft. These environments can consist of single mountains, or more preferably, giant mountain ranges.
These biomes are fairly rare to find in any Minecraft seed, but are some of the most beautiful and sought after Minecraft seeds for some players. Minecraft mountains can have all sorts of neat features, from active flowing lava, to floating islands in the sky. Minecraft seeds with mountains are a very neat find almost every time.
Here are some examples of Minecraft mountain seeds, but don't forget to check out the full mountain seed list as well.
This is one of the best Minecraft seeds for mountains because of the village buried in dirt. The mountains ranged seen in the picture above actually go on for a while. The mountains are very interesting in this Minecraft seed, with various floating islands in the sky, and giant precipices.
The village is very interesting as well, but will take a fair amount of work in order to clean up. There are other villages nearby in the desert, and even a desert temple somewhere. This Minecraft seed has a lot of long-term exploration potential, which is pretty important on a mountain seed.
This Minecraft seed starts players out somewhat near the big mountain seen above. There's a desert temple right near the mountain with three diamonds inside. The mountain is actually somewhat hollow on the other side, sort of like a volcano.
There aren't any more mountains to find on this Minecraft seed, but for anyone who wants a single mountain to make into something, this is it. The big mountain is perfect for remodeling for a variety of different purposes. The three diamonds inside of the desert temple will be invaluable for picking away as many cobblestone blocks as necessary when working with this cool mountain.
This is a great Minecraft seed for mountains. The village seen above isn't where players start off, instead hit F3 and find X -650 Z 375 to discover the village. The mountains actually go on for quite a while. There should be plenty of mountain exploration to do, with various caves, lava flows, floating islands, and more. These mountains are some of the best mountains, which are quite rare since the upgrade to Minecraft 1.7.
One of the best parts about this mountain seed, if not the best part, is that the village blacksmith has 3 diamonds to take, which is just enough to make a diamond pickaxe. This specific Minecraft seed is in dire need of the diamond pickaxe because there are so many mountains to work with. The diamond pick makes carving out the mountains much easier to do.
There's plenty more where that came from. Don't forget to check out the full mountain seed list for even more great mountain seeds.
Minecraft desert seeds often have desert temples and villages to discover. Sometimes it's even possible to find a well without a village attached to it. These biomes are usually full of cacti and sometimes sugar cane, with not much else to find other than sand and sandstone
Sometimes there can be floating islands of sand in the sky. These strange formations usually all fall down when a single block is removed. It's definitely an odd thing to find in a Minecraft seed, which is one of the many pleasures of exploring a desert biome.
Be sure to stop be the desert seed list for more desert seed fun.
This Minecraft seed starts players off right on the border of a desert and a plains biome. This is a pretty generic desert, with a village that has a desert temple built right in. There's a second desert temple as well and between everything there's a diamond and some saddles. Surely there are horses somewhere to be found, and with those two saddles this becomes a horse taming seed.
This Minecraft desert seed has a desert village right at the starting point. There are a bunch of caves everywhere around this area. This is actually one of those points where environments converge with a desert, plains, and savanna all meeting up together right where the village is.
The village does not have a blacksmith, but there are pumpkins nearby. The pumpkins aren't used for much, but it does help turn this into a slightly scary Minecraft seed in a sense. There should be plenty of resources down in the caves, which makes this a great Minecraft seed for construction and blacksmithing.
This Minecraft seed has a great starting point. Players find themselves literally in the middle of a village that has three diamonds in the blacksmith. This Minecraft village is right on the edge of a plains biome, where the desert for this seed begins.
There's actually more to find out in the desert. Both the temple and village seen above can be found out in the desert. Between all of the naturally generated structures, players can expect to find 6 diamonds! That's a lot of diamonds. This is probably one of the best Minecraft seeds for making diamond tools.
The fun doesn't end there. There are more desert seeds to try out, check out the list of Minecraft desert seeds.
Jungle seeds are some of the spookiest Minecraft seeds at night. It's very easy to get lost forever in a big jungle without a compass. These environments have huge trees, sometimes with cocoa beans attached to the sides. There's also thick underbrush at the bottom of the trees, making navigation that much harder.
Players can also often find jungle temples inside of most jungles, which contain treasure. These temples also have trip wires and traps, so be very careful when exploring them.
Jungles are one of the most fun places to explore, with big ones giving hours of fun. Caves are usually common in jungles, but some jungles have almost no caves, it's a jungle by jungle thing. Either way Minecraft seeds with jungles are some of the most sought after seeds for some Minecraft players.
Here are three good examples of what jungle seeds can be like. Be sure to check out the full list of jungle seeds before settling on one.
This is an interesting starting point for a jungle seed. Players find themselves in a jungle that has a bit of birch forest mixed into it. It's pretty cool how the jungle kind of transitions into a birch forest, instead of just ending.
There are also some other interesting features to be found, including a small island in the middle of a jungle lake at x0 by z0. There are probably some jungle temples to be found out there and plenty of caves as well. This is a pretty cool Minecraft seed for jungles.
This is a pretty cool Minecraft seed for jungles because there's a jungle temple right near the starting point. Inside of this jungle temple are two diamonds, along with some gold and iron bars to use. From this point there should be the start of an extreme hills biome, which is another option when it comes to adventuring.
There's a big jungle lake right next to the temple, and plenty of jungle trees all around. The jungle is pretty big, there are actually more temples, but they're much deeper into the jungle. Players will have to search high and low to make their way through this jungle and find the other temples. Some may choose to settle down somewhere in the jungle and try to defend their home from the onslaught of monsters that spawn very thick in a jungle at night.
This is a really interesting Minecraft seed. Right at the start there are two islands off the coast of a hilly biome. These two islands both have jungle trees covering them. It's very rare to find a jungle island seed, this one is about as close as it gets sometimes.
These islands have plenty of wood to use, as do most jungles. This is a great place to make a home, especially the smaller of the two jungle islands. If there's anyone out there who's been wanting to make a home an island of jungle, this is the perfect Minecraft seed for that.
These aren't the only jungle seeds. Be sure to check out the jungle seed list as well.
Mesa seeds were added much later to Minecraft. These environments are full of various colors of clay blocks, which are pretty much entirely for decoration. Mesa seeds are similar to desert seeds, but much redder in color.
There are a few different versions of mesa sections. There are mesa forests, mesa hills, and these strange pillar-like structures called bryce. These spikes can be very colorful, and very interesting to build a home near. Sometimes people will try to use the bryce pillars are little skyscraper houses. Mesa's make for some really cool Minecraft seeds.
Here are a few examples of mesa seeds. Be sure to check out the full mesa seed list too.
This is one of the most epic mesa seeds. It's extremely rare to find the hottest and coldest biomes right next to each other like this. On top of all of that, there's a village at this intersection as well. This is probably one of the quaintest places to make a home, especially for a mesa enthusiast.
This Minecraft seed has a pretty generic mesa at the start. There aren't very many mesa trees, and no bryce nearby, but with enough searching they could be out there. Not all mesa seeds have a bryce section to the environment, they're actually pretty rare. Either way this is one of the most interesting Minecraft mesa seeds of all time, mainly because of the village and the taiga section.
This Minecraft mesa seed has a bryce over to the north at X 35 by Z -500. The bryce pillars aren't the tallest, but it's a great example of what to expect from a bryce environment. The starting point to this seed is actually on a normal mesa by the ocean.
There are a bunch of mesa forest sections on the way to the bryce. This is one of those Minecraft seeds with plenty of wood from the mesa forests. There are probably a bunch of different caves, and other interesting features all over the mesa, it will take an enthused explorer to map out all of this Mesa seed.
This is one of the best Minecraft seeds for all around mesa adventures. There's a bryce really close to the start, along with mesa forest, and basic mesa as well. There are a bunch of caves all around in this Minecraft seed.
Mesa's make for some really cool Minecraft seeds. Mesa's also have ponds, lakes, and other formations. The only thing missing in a mesa are mesa mountains. Maybe someday that sub-section will exist as well.
Don't let the fun end here, there are even more mesa seeds over at Minecraft mesa seeds.
Minecraft forest seeds are probably the most generic type of Minecraft seed out there. These Minecraft seeds can exist in many different forms, from birch forest, to oak forest, all the way to flower forest. There are many different types of forest seeds in Minecraft, with the most generic of them all being mixed forests between oak and birch.
Flower forests are a moderately new addition (Minecraft 1.8) and they have trees, flowers, and maybe even lakes. There are also a variant of forest called roofed forest (or deep forest) which have extremely thick trees, tree cover, and even some giant mushrooms here and there. There's a whole section for that type of forest below, mainly because they're so cool.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the forest seeds over at Minecraft forest seeds.
This Minecraft seed starts players right near a village, which is completely surrounded by forest. Players should be careful of the side facing the roofed forest, as monsters can even spawn during the day in those environments. This is such a cool Minecraft seed that it actually makes the cut as one of the best Minecraft seeds.
The normal forest is actually a birch forest, which makes this seed even more unique. The village is a god home base for any player to spread out and search the forest. The roofed forest is a surprisingly good source of food because of the giant mushrooms, but they're not even necessary because of the wheat farms in the village. This is one of the most fun Minecraft seeds for forests.
This is a pretty cool Minecraft seed. Players start off in a forest with a few flowers nearby too. This is a pretty generic forest, with a single hill that looks kind of odd, as seen above. There are probably caves and other hidden treasures throughout the forest.
Animals are fairly common in forest environments. It wouldn't be surprising to find a free food source, like cows or pigs, inside of the forest. There's a plains nearby if a change of scenery becomes necessary as well.
This Minecraft island seed is pretty cool. This is about as close as it gets to having a full blown forest on an island. There are so many trees on this island; players could live off of apples alone. Luckily this luxury island has more than just apples for food; normally animals start off on the island as well. The animals aren't always the same every time either.
There's also plenty of grass, making wheat farms a sustainable idea as well. This is a really fun place to have a Minecraft adventure, especially for anyone who wants a forest on an island. Between all the animals and wheat seed, living here is like living in the lap of luxury. This is hands down one of the best Minecraft seeds for islands and forests.
There are more forests where that came from. Don't forget to check out the full forest seed list for more great forest seeds for Minecraft.
Roofed forest seeds for Minecraft are some of the most interesting. These were added much later into the Minecraft versions. Roofed forests have giant mushrooms, and heavy leaf shadow coverage. The leaves are so thick in roofed forests that monsters can actually spawn during the day, making roofed forests a dangerous place to try to survive.
Some people gravitate towards the roofed forests because of the food from the giant mushrooms. Other people like them because they're dark and scary, and make for a thrilling adventure. Whatever the reason, roofed forests are a great addition to Minecraft and make wonderful Minecraft seeds, even if they're just a side note.
Here are a few examples of roofed foerests. Don't forget to check out the roofed forest seed list as well.
This is one of the greatest Minecraft seeds for roofed forests because of the fun village that's near it. The village is a great base of operations to explore the roofed forest. It's extremely difficult to defend the village without some kind of wall or moat because of the extreme number of monsters that slowly creep out from the forests.
It's pretty easy to survive on a Minecraft seed like this one. There's wheat farms that have already been started by the villagers, and plenty of giant mushrooms to make stew with. This is one of the most fun seeds for Minecraft because of all the neat stuff it includes.
This is one of the more unique Minecraft seeds. Players start in plain sight of the tiny little village, which has a blacksmith and a house. There are tons of horses all around the village. There's even a swampland nearby.
The roofed forest is right next to the village, across the river. This roofed forest goes on for a while, with plenty of room for exploring. The village is an interesting place to get started; it will take a fair amount of work to grow such a small village. Or players can choose to go live out a live in the roofed forest of this awesome seed for Minecraft.
Here's another great Minecraft seed with a roofed forest surrounding a cool village. There's a cave entrance near the village that leads to a spawner. There's even a nice view of the ocean from the village, which could be turned into a port for Minecraft boats.
Overall this is one of the cool Minecraft seeds, with a neat roofed forest village combo. The roofed forest isn't very big, but it's big enough to have monsters attack the village, even during the day. Roofed forest seeds are some of the coolest Minecraft seeds.
Don't forget to look through the rest of the roofed forests. Check out the roofed forest seed list.
Minecraft swampland seeds are very cool. These environments are very creepy and strange looking, like most swamps in real life. These Minecraft seeds are characterized by the trees with vines hanging down from the leaves, as well lily pads floating on the water. This is where players can find those unique blue swamp flowers.
There are a few different reasons to pick a Minecraft seed with a swamp, one of the most common is for the witches’ huts. These naturally generated structures don't have much in them, but they're a nice place to renovate into a Minecraft house. These biomes very often riddled with caves, which is a great source of coal and iron. Minecraft swampland seeds are some of the most interesting Minecraft seeds to explore.
Here are a few examples of swampland seeds. Be sure to check out the Minecraft swampland seeds list as well.
This awesome Minecraft seed starts players off right by a village, which is on the edge of a swampland. There's a witches hut out in the swamp, along with all the other swampland features. There are horses nearby, and stone hills as well. This cool Minecraft seed even has a second village to find.
This swamp has a lot of fun reasons to live in it. There are animals in the swamp, which can be used for food. There should be caves to explore for resources. Also there's the witches hut, which is a nice base of operations when exploring this interesting swampland.
This is one of the more interesting Minecraft seeds. Players find themselves starting off on a beach biome, which are actually surprisingly uncommon. This beach is connected to a swampland, which players must pass through in order to get to any other environments. The only way to circumvent the swamp is to swim, or take a boat.
Other than that the swamp is pretty generic, with the occasional blue flower, animals, caves, and more. It's cool to have a private beach with the swamp, which could potentially be used to make a port for the boats. This should be a pretty cool Minecraft seed for anyone looking for a good swamp to explore.
This Minecraft seed starts players off in a plains biome, right next to a village, mesa, jungle, jungle temple, and swampland. This is a pretty great Minecraft seed for anyone who wants a lot of diversity with their swampland. The village is a good home to start with, and if players get bored of the swamp, there's plenty more to explore.
This seed is located at one of those points in a Minecraft world where biomes seem to converge. If the swamp gets boring, there's always the mesa, or the village, or the jungle, and so on. This is one of the best adventuring seeds for Minecraft because of the diversity of environments in which to explore. This is definitely one of the best Minecraft seeds, and for good reason.
There's more where that came from. Don't forget to check out the Minecraft swampland seed list for even more swampland seeds.
Minecraft taiga seeds are some of the most interesting Minecraft seeds, even though they tend to get boring after a while. These seeds also include the snow seeds, as well as the mega taiga and spruce tree biomes. Taigas occasionally have ice spike plains, which are almost as rare as finding a bryce inside of a mesa.
These Minecraft seeds are pretty fun to explore; they're often riddled with caves, but not always. The rare ice spikes are a great place to make a tower-like home. Mega taiga's are a great compromise between a jungle biome and a forest because they have giant trees, but none of that annoying underbrush that inhibits fast traveling. Overall taigas are one of the more interesting Minecraft seeds to play around with.
Below are a few examples of what taiga seeds bring to the table. Don't forget to check out the full Minecraft taiga seed list for even more great Minecraft seeds.
This is a nice taiga seed for Minecraft to try out. It's great that there's a village so close to spawn, and also so close to the snow. This small little arctic village is a great place to make into a home, and from this home players can explore the rest of the vast taiga biome.
This particular Minecraft seed has a snowy taiga forest, and snowy taiga plains to explore. What's really unique about this seed is that the village blacksmith has three diamonds and an iron chestplate. Surprisingly those two items are the only items in the entire storage chest. Honestly that's a pretty good start to a seed as it allows players to make a diamond pickaxe, and little bit of starting defense. Overall this is one of the best Minecraft seeds for exploring taigas.
This is one of the best Minecraft seeds for ice spike plains. Players start right on the edge of the ice spike plains biome, with plenty of other snowy environments to explore as well. There aren't very many of the taller ice spikes, but there's a beautiful river flowing right down the center of this area.
Ice spike plains are one of the rarest environments in all of Minecraft, along with mushroom islands and bryce. There should be non-snowy taigas somewhere nearby, and a source of food should be easy to find from there. Snowy biomes are fairly hard to survive in because of the lack of food. Usually it takes traveling to a different biome for food, and then returning to the taiga with the food to keep the food source going.
This is one of the more interesting Minecraft seeds because it's in the rare mega taiga biome. Players start off right next to a cave, which could potentially be renovated into a home. As for the mega taiga, these biomes are very interesting. There are brown grass blocks, along with mossy cobblestone blocks here and there. The trees in mega taigas are huge, and supply ample amounts of wood for any purpose.
This mega taiga seed starts players out right on the edge of the taiga, with a good source of water right nearby. There are other environments to explore nearby, but the mega taiga is the main focus of this Minecraft seed. There should be plenty of food in the mega taiga, from animals, to grass seed, and so on.
Don't forget to look at the full taiga seed list for more great taiga seeds for Minecraft.
Savanna seeds are actually one of the most common environments to find in Minecraft, next to maybe forests. These Minecraft seeds are hotter than some of the other biomes, and can potentially contain all the different animals, just like any other normal biome. There's normally plenty of grass in the savanna, which makes creating a wheat farm fairly easy. This biome is also one of the three different environments that villages can be found in, making savanna seeds that much more interesting. Savanna biomes can be characterized by their darker grass, and strange savanna trees.
Another cool feature of savanna seeds are the big savanna mountains. This is something that's usually found only in the savanna. Every now and then there will be one gigantic mountain in the middle of a savanna, which is pretty cool. Normally there's no such thing as a savanna mountain range, but occasionally there will be something close to it. Minecraft seeds with savannas are definitely a sought after commodity because of the villages, mountains, food, and more.
Below are a few examples of savanna seeds. To see the rest of the savanna seeds, check out the full savanna seed list.
This Minecraft savanna seed has one of the best setups. Moderately near the initial starting point is a big village, which is right up against a cool savanna mountain. There's also a desert right up against the village, in case the savanna gets boring.
As for the mountain, it's pretty big. Creating a home up on the mountain plateau might be an interesting idea for some. There are actually trees, grass, and dirt up on the top of the mountain. As for the village, there are usually sheep running around in it. The wool from sheep makes it possible to craft a bed. These beds are used to make a new starting point in case something bad happens to the player. Making a home with a bed up on the mountain should be pretty easy on this fun Minecraft seed.
This one wild and crazy Minecraft seed with a savanna village right near the start, and plenty of other features to find as well. In total there are five Minecraft villages within a reasonable distance to the starting point. There are desert temples too. Between all the naturally generated structures, players can expect to find a lot of treasure.
The main savanna village (as seen above) is up against an interesting hilly ridge. This village looks very nice because of the terrain around it, almost like something from a movie. There are many caves throughout the hill behind the village. Defending this village may prove to be difficult, given the way the terrain wraps around it. Either way, because of all the fun things to find, this is one of the best Minecraft seeds, and even more so for savannas.
This is a really interesting Minecraft seed where players find themselves right on the border of a savanna and grasslands. There's a village in plain sight from the spawn, which is a nice home to sprawl out from. Exploring savannas can be extremely dangerous as night, which is why having such a nice village to come home to is invaluable.
There are many caves hidden here and there throughout the savanna. It takes a steady adventurer to find everything the savanna has to offer. Minecraft savanna seeds offer a nice change of pace from generic forests. It's fun to try to find savanna mountains, and other interesting features in every savanna seed.
There are plenty more savannas where that came from. Don't forget to look at the full savanna seed list for more great savanna seeds.
Plains seeds can involve a few different things. There can be plains villages, sunflower plains, flower forest plains, and just plain old plains. Every now and then there could even be a big island of just plains, and no trees. Plains are also sometimes called grasslands, and are one of the most common biomes in Minecraft, along with forests. These environments usually aren't very big, and usually are a connection point between different biomes.
Plains are the second most common environment to find villages in, the most common being deserts. Plains are a great source of grass, which can be cut down to get seeds, which can be used to grow wheat. Plains are also one of the most attractive places to live in Minecraft because the colors are pleasing to most eyes. There's nothing quite like a relaxing adventure in a plains village. Plains really make some of the best Minecraft seeds around, and are one of the most appealing environments.
There are many plains seeds to choose from. Below are a few examples of plains seeds, but don't forget to look at the rest of the plains over the Minecraft plains seed list.
This is a great example of a sunflower plains sub-section of plains. Plains are always made up of dirt blocks with grass on top. Occasionally there may be ponds and rivers flowing through, but for the most part it's just grass. The two main subsections of plains are flower forests and sunflower plains. Honestly flower forests are more of a hybrid between forest and plains, with tons of different flower species everywhere.
This fun Minecraft seed has players starting off in a small circle of sunflower plains. There's actually a desert temple nearby, and another across the ocean. This plains is an interesting place to build, it's almost like a natural build plot given the size and look of the grasslands in this Minecraft seed. There's also plenty of water, which makes irrigating farms very easy. This is a pretty generic plains seed for Minecraft.
This is one of the cool Minecraft seeds for starting at a crossroads of biomes. Players start off in fairly big Minecraft village, which is right next to a desert, and savanna environment. There's plenty of water, a small source of trees, and even a blacksmith. This is a very easy Minecraft seed for survival, the village even has ample wheat farms which give quite an excess of food.
This Minecraft seed pretty much has it all, there's even a fissure-like opening near the village which should lead to some more caves. Gathering resources is easy in this seed for Minecraft, and the blacksmith even has some iron pants to try on. This may not be the absolute best village seed, but it's definitely one of the best Minecraft seeds for diversity. There's even a normal forest behind the savanna, and a big lake/ocean nearby to that. This is one of the great Minecraft seeds for a multi-biome start where multiple environments converge, right on top of a village.
This is one of the greatest Minecraft seeds for starting on plains. This is actually a plains island seed without a single tree. The picture above is almost the entire island. The best part about this epic Minecraft seed is that the blacksmith from that village just so happens to have 6 saplings which can be planted for a self-sustaining source of wood and apples. It's amazing that there just happens to be trees in the blacksmith, especially since players would have to sail away to go find trees and them come back otherwise.
If that's not enough, there are even animals on the island. Players have their choice of growing wheat, creating orchards, or eating animals in order to survive. This is one of the greatest plains seeds, as well as a fantastic island seed. There are also starts to caves in different places on the island as well. This plains island gives players plenty of room to create whatever they want, or they can opt to grow the village instead. This truly is one of the coolest Minecraft seeds for starting in a plains environment.
There are plenty more plains where that came from. Be sure to take a look at the Minecraft plains seed list for more fantastic Minecraft seeds.

Minecraft 1.9 also brought about dual wielding weapons, which is another reason to get started playing Minecraft 1.9 as soon as possible.
This is one of the coolest Minecraft 1.9 seeds for villages. Players start off in the forest, as seen above, which is right nearby to the grasslands village. Players can find the other village in view of the first one, if the render distance is high enough.
Both villages have blacksmiths, but neither one has much of anything special. One has some obsidian and some iron armor. The best part is probably how close these villages are, it could easily be turned into a Minecraft city seed with a little bit of work. Another interesting trait of these villages is that even though they're so close to each other, one is a desert village and the other is a plains village. It rarely gets more unique then this awesome Minecraft seed.
This is a near-perfect Minecraft island seed 1.9 for a difficult survival adventure. This is also one of the good Minecraft seeds for hardcore mode, if players want a challenge. Apples and wheat are the only way to survive without leaving the island. If players can get their hands on enough spiders then they can also fish for food. This is a great Minecraft island seed with only a few trees, a small amount of dirt, and even less grass. It will definitely take some hard work and time to turn this survival island into an island paradise.
This is a pretty good Minecraft 1.9 seed for exploring a mesa. Players start off on the border of a roofed fores and a mesa biome. The roofed forest offers mushrooms which are good for getting started with food. It's very difficult to find enough food in a mesa biome, which is where starting with a roofed forest comes in handy. The mesa extends for some distance and allows for plenty of exploration. This is a pretty fun Minecraft seed for mesa exploration.

Check out the full list of Minecraft 1.8.8 seeds to find some great worlds that have been tested and work for 1.8.8 Minecraft. Seeds for Minecraft usually work across multiple versions, but sometimes they stop working with certain version updates. The 1.8.8 Minecraft seed list has a bunch of seeds that should work for 1.8.8, as well as many other Minecraft versions. Here are a few examples of what's to be found in the full 1.8.8 Minecraft seed list.
This is one wild and crazy Minecraft seed, but at the same time very slow and methodical. Players start off right beside the blacksmith of a village, which is actually on an island. This island has no trees at all, but plenty of animals. Out of all odds there just so happens to be some saplings in the blacksmith, which allows players to grow trees without having to leave the island. This is a perfect place to survive with everything players to need to succeed.
The animals that generate can sometimes be random, but usually there are pigs, cows, horses, and even chickens. Of these animals chickens are one of the best because they can be breed by simply throwing their eggs. One out of eight chicken eggs will hatch a chicken when thrown. This is definitely a great Minecraft seed for islands, villages, and animals.
This is a really neat Minecraft seed both for people who want some ice spike plains, and for people who want to see a flower forest. This Minecraft seed has both of these features and is definitely one of the best Minecraft seeds. Players can find plenty more taiga where that came from, but as for the flower forest, there's only a little. Both of these biomes happen to be right next to the ocean, as well as a bunch of forests.
Ice spikes are pretty cool, and can even be renovated into igloos in a sense. As for the flower forest, they definitely make for a good view. The flower are great for replanting in any Minecraft settlement. It's actually very difficult to collect flowers in Minecraft without having a good flower forest to pick through.
This is a pretty easy Minecraft survival island seed to survive on. There are usually a few animals that spawn on the peninsula of the island. Usually these animals are pigs and chickens, but that's not always the case. If chickens do happen to spawn, they're the easiest to survive on because the eggs can be thrown to create baby chickens.
There are also plenty of trees on the island. Trees can drop apples when the leaves are harvested. In a sense this island is a pre-generated apple orchard. On top of that there's plenty of grass to grow wheat with, and plenty of dirt that can be spread out to make farms with. Overall this is a pretty fun and easy going Minecraft island seed.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the 1.8.8 Minecraft seeds as well.
This is a list of Minecraft 1.5.2 seeds for anyone who wants a pre-1.7 seed. After Minecraft 1.7, all of the previous seeds no longer work. This list of Minecraft seeds should work for various other versions of Minecraft from before 1.7. The seeds from before 1.7 were much more random as to whether or not they worked between versions. It seems as though post-1.7 Minecraft seeds work across multiple versions much more consistently than the older seeds. Below are a few examples from the full Minecraft 1.5.2 seed list.
This is one of the best Minecraft seeds for 1.5.2 and other pre-1.7 versions as well. Players start on an island that's only a small swim away from the perfect village island seen above. This is a really fun Minecraft seed because it gives players so much to work with while they collect enderpearls for the end gate. The village is a really nice place to inhabit while trying to find endermen to slay.
If that's not good enough, the fact that the village is on an island is definitely a reason to give this Minecraft seed a try. There are other islands nearby to hop over to, and plenty to find and do. The stronghold unfortunately does not have any actual stronghold connected to it. The end room is the only part of the stronghold that exists and it's floating in the water. Overall this is truly an amazing seed for Minecraft.
This is a really big island seed for Minecraft, so big in fact that there's even a section on the island with some pretty big hills. This island is actually on the coast of a continent, so if life gets boring, there's always more to explore off the island. As for the rest of the island, there's a small section with trees, a few pitfalls that lead down into caves, and a fissure over on one side.
Animals often start off on the island, making this cool island seed a great place to survive, very easily. Overall this is just a fun seed for Minecraft 1.5.2 and many other pre-1.7 versions. Big islands like this are prefect for survival mode, and the flat land on the island offers a good canvas for creative mode as well. This is a really amazing Minecraft seed.
This is one of the best Minecraft seeds for jungle temples because it's right at the start, and it contains six diamonds. Diamonds are one of the most sought after materials in all of Minecraft. This jungle temple seed has enough to make something really nice.
Other than the temple, there's plenty of cool jungle to explore, it's a really great Minecraft seed for 1.5.2 and so on. There's also a forest if jungle isn't quite right, anywhere to go spend six diamonds is a good place to live in any Minecraft world. As far as diamonds and jungle temples go, this is one of the coolest 1.5.2 Minecraft seeds to choose from.
